Great experience!! - We were a group of 11 friends climbing Mount Gede over 2 days 1 night. Our guide was Syem. Climb Indonesia was very accommodating and patient with our questions and... read more last minute changes/requests. The hike itself was fantastic, Syem and our transport were waiting 15mins before our agreed pick up time, transport was smooth, and the pace set by Syem was great! Food was amazing, considering that the local porters and cooks were carrying up all the equipment and food. The hot fish soup was especially lovely in the cold valley :) We were provided camping chairs and small tables, plates and metal cutlery, and hot water with drinks for each meal :) The campsite was set up very well, the tents and sleeping bags kept us warm and protected from the cold. Syem was very hospitable, even bought us cup noodles on the summit which were such an experience to eat in the windy cold! On the descent, the main route was very crowded as it was a weekend, so Syem suggested to take an alternative, quieter route. On the way down, one team mate was feeling unwell, and Syem helped him carry his pack (on top of his own!) so he could feel more comfortable.

Overall, it was an excellent first experience into Indonesia's mountains and camping! Would definitely recommend Climb Indonesia and Syem :)

The food was fantastic and so sumptuous even though we were in the wild! They were also very patient and accommodated to our pace on the hike. Brother Abdul has a great sense of humour and we absolutely appreciated the cultural exchange we had on the journey.

Catching the sunrise atop Mount Gede was breathtaking and glorious! Thank you Climb Indonesia for making that happen for us!

So I asked Climb Indonesia to put together an itinerary for me and was stoked with what they came up with.

From the first response to my enquiry to the final day of the trip Climb Indonesia and Syam were super organised and super professional. Upon arrival I was greeted at the airport by Syam and then on the final day taken to my hotel before departure. As a female solo traveller I felt very safe, comfortable, and cared for at all times.

It was an awesome experience all round!

I highly recommend Climb Indonesia, and will climb again with them in Java in 2025!
