The active stratovolcano Mt Kerinci lies within Kerinci Seblat National Park, in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of tropical rainforest in Sumatera. Hike into the heart of the rainforest, home to healthy populations of Indonesian wildlife, including elephants, bears, tapirs, clouded leopards and gibbons, as well as the endangered Sumatran tiger, and enjoy stunning views from the highest peak in Sumatra and Indonesia’s highest volcano

  • 2 liters of mineral water/day/person during trekking
  • 2 nights accommodation at local homestay in Kresik Tuo - the entry point of Mt Kerinci
  • Camping equipment, including comfortable tents, air mattress, sleeping bag which comfortable for 10 Degree Celsius, chairs and camping tables
  • Group porter for carrying camping equipment, logistics, mineral water. In case you have more equipment/belonging like big camera or tripod then we suggest you to hire extra porter, the cost to hire extra porter to carry personal belongings is IDR 350.000,-/porter/day

Itinerary

Day 1OVERLAND TRANSFER FROM PADANG TO KRESIK TUO

• Pick up service at Padang International Airport, drive to Kresik Tuo, the entry point of Mount Kerinci (approximately 8-9 hours drive
• Overnight at local homestay in Kresik Tuo
• Meals L, D

Day 2TREKKING TO SHELTER 2 AT MOUNT KERINCI

• After breakfast, transfer to the gate of Mount Kerinci
• Start trekking to shelter 1 (2,505m) approximately 3-4 hours, lunch break at shelter 1
• Continue trekking to shelter 2 (3,056m) approximately 3 hours, overnight camping at shelter 2
• Meals B, L, D

Day 3SUMMIT MOUNT KERINCI, BACK TO KRESIK TUO

• Early wake up at 2 am for summit attack, light breakfast is provided,  approximately 4 hours trekking, then going back to Shelter 2 (approximately 2 hours)
• Brunch at Shelter 2
• Trek down to the gate of Mt Kerinci
• Transfer back to the homestay
• Dinner and overnight at the homestay
• Meals: B L, D, snacks

Day 4TRANSFER BACK TO PADANG

• After breakfast at the homestay, transfer back to your  hotel in Padang, approximately 7-8 hours
• Meals B, L

Or if you want to explore the Gunung Tujuh Lake – the seven mountain lake, then you can add one more day + one more night staying at the homestay in Kresik Tuo.  This volcanic crater lake is the highest lake in Southeast Asia, and also the second-largest lake after Lake Toba
