Mount Sindoro 3,136m is one of the active stratovolcanoes in Central Java, which still under the radar of foreign hikers visiting Indonesia. Located in Wonosobo, Central Java, the mountain has a spectacular and very much active crater with parasitic craters and cones in the northwest-southern flanks. The mountain offers gorgeous panoramic landscape along the trail to summit. The summit of Sindoro offers majestic 360-degree views of Dieng area, with Mt Prau to the north, Mt Slamet and Mt Ciremai to the west, and Mt Sumbing, Merapi, Merbabu to the east. Climbing Mt Sindoro is moderately challenging but very doable for the average person. With plenty of rest points along the way, this mountain is suitable for moderate volcano adventure with family and friends.
