What to Prepare and What to Expect

Technical Rock Climbing: The main challenge on Puncak Trikora Expedition is technical rock climbing rather than the rigors of high-altitude climbing. Therefore, team members need to have rock climbing experience and be propicient in ascending and descending techniques. The climb is made from base camp and usually takes 10-12 hours for a round trip.

Flexibility

Papua is a region of exceptional natural beauty and cultural richness, providing adventurous travelers with the opportunity to explore some of Indonesia’s most remote and breathtaking landscapes. However, it’s important to be aware that ongoing political tensions and sporadic unrest in certain areas add a level of uncertainty to any expedition. This could lead to potential itinerary changes at short notice. It is essential to approach this journey with flexibility, understanding that dates and plans may need to adapt to the evolving situation.
