Adventure Details

Mount Talamau or also called Mount Ophir is a massive compound volcano rising above the western coastal plain of Sumatra. This inactive volcano is the highest mountain in West Sumatra with an altitude of 2,920 meters above sea level, and with dozens of lakes scattered in the peak area.

The trail at Mt Talamau is generally considered a moderately challenging trail which takes around 12-14 hours to cross the virgin forest to reach the summit. On regular basis only fewer hikers hike this mountain, so unlikely you’ll encounter many other people while exploring this beautiful tropical rainforest.  The climb up of Mount Talamau will take 3 days 2 nights.
