Alan is UK based but generally visits Indonesia 3 to 4 times a year. He is a very experienced International Mountain Leader with experience in many countries at altitudes up to 6,200 m.

In 2006 and 2012, Alan reached the top twelve finalists in the Wanderlust Travel Magazine’s annual worldwide Top Guide Award Competition. In 2014 Alan was the British Heart Foundation’s Heart Hero Wales for delivering CPR and AED training to community groups in Wales, UK.
