Ascend the highest peak of Mt Raung 3,344m - The most challenging mountain trail compare to other mountain in Java.

Mount Raung is one of the most active volcanoes on the island of Java, Indonesia. Located in East Java, the mountain has a 2km-wide, 500m-deep caldera with steep, narrow scree-covered walls and sheer drops either side. Mount Raung’s highest peak stands at 3,332m above sea level, and is the most challenging of all Java’s mountain trails. For the summit attack, climbers will use rock climbing safety equipment  and be roped up to move around the thin crater rim and rocky ridge. Your reward is a magnificent view of the stunning caldera.

ITINERARY AT A GLANCE:

4D3N PROGRAM  

Day 1 – Airport pick up service at Blimbingsari airport in Banyuwangi, transfer to Kalibaru, the entry point of Mount Raung for 2 hour drive. As soon as you arrived in Kalibaru, we will stop by at local clinic in Kalibaru for simple medical checkup. * Note : Every hiker must present a health certificate/ fit to climb letter from a clinic or doctor during registration to prove they have an adequate level of fitness. In practice, this will be a simple medical checkup at local clinic that has to be conducted one day before hiking day. After that we will transfer you to basecamp for taking a rest.  ( Fyi : Basecamp only provided basic facility but it’s free of charge. Hotel also available near train station with a room rate starting IDR 250,000 per night ) 

Day 2 : Mt Raung Basecamp  to Camp 7

From basecamp we will take a motorbike taxi  to the gate of Mt Raung (980m above sea level) then continue trekking to camp 7  (2,541m  above sea level)  on Mount Raung. Trekking distance today 8.4 km, altitude gain 1,561m. 

Day 3 : Camp 7 to highest peak of Mt Raung 

We will start trekking at 2 AM for summit the highest peak of Mount Raung ( 3,344m) , back to camp 7, overnight camping. Trekking distance 4 km (back and forth) with altitude gain 803m

Day 4 : Camp 7 – Basecamp. Descend down to basecamp, transfer back to Banyuwangi, end of service.
