Pasola is a thanks giving ceremony to the ancestral spirit of people from West Sumba East Nusa Tenggara.

February is coming, time to witness the annual Pasola festival, where the clans of Sumba face off in one of mankind’s most ancient and unique rituals. They say it’s not a Pasola until there’s blood on the field.

After Pasola then immerse yourself in Sumba’s beautiful nature and fascinating culture. Stay overnight at the royal village/ traditional villages, follow the household’s daily activities and learn about ancestor worship during a visit at the massive stone sarcophagi. Also you can learn how to make traditional woven ikat fabric on a hand loom with natural dyes and for those willing to get more adventurous experience then you can try riding the Sumbanese horses. Your vacation will be fulfilling, inspiring and you’ll make memories to cherish.
