MOUNT KERINCI 3805m 

The active stratovolcano Mount Kerinci is Sumatra’s highest peak and Indonesia’s highest volcano. It lies at the heart of the Kerinci Seblat National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is home to healthy populations of elephants, bears, tapirs, clouded leopards, gibbons, and the endangered Sumatran tiger. The mountain is a popular destination in Sumatra, and is perfect for the adventurous hiker as it offers challenging terrain and stunning views from the summit.

4D3N PROGRAM 

ITINERARY AT A GLANCE:

Day 1 – Arrival in Padang, West Sumatera

  • Pick up service at Minangkabau international airport, then transfer to your hotel.
  • Padang city tour and final preparation for trekking

Day 2 – Padang to Kresik Tuo

  • Depart at 08:00 am to Kresik Tuo, the entry point of Mount Kerinci, overland transfer with private air-conditioned comfortable van, it takes approximately 7-8 hours
  • Lunch en-route
  • Stay overnight and dinner in a home stay in Kresik Tuo

Day 3 – Trekking to Shelter 2 Mt Kerinci

  • Breakfast at 7:30 am in a home stay
  • Transfer to the gate of Mt Kerinci, 30 minutes drive with pickup car
  • Start trekking to Shelter 1 (2,505m), approximately 3 hours
  • Lunch break at Shelter 1
  • Start trekking to Shelter 2 (3,056m), approximately 3 hours
  • Overinight camping at Shelter 2

Day 4 – Summit Mt Kerinci

  • Early wakeup at 2 am for summit attack, light breakfast
  • Start treeking at 3 am for summit attack, approximately 4 hours trekking, then going back to Shelter 2 (approxiately 2 hours)
  • Brunch at Shelter 2
  • Trek down to the gate of Mt Kerinci
  • Transfer back to homestay
  • After cleaning up and dinner we will start heading bacck to Padang at approx 8 pm, driving time to Padang is 7-8 hours
  • Transfer to your hotel in Padang or to Padang airport
  • End of service.

5D4N PROGRAM – MT KERINCI AND GUNUNG TUJUH LAKE 

Day 1 – Arrival in Padang, West Sumatera

  • Pick up service at Minangkabau international airport, then transfer to your hotel.
  • Padang city tour and final preparation for trekking

Day 2 – Padang to Kresik Tuo

Day 5

  • After breakfast at the homestay, transfer to Gunung Tujuh trailhead (30 minutes’ drive with regular van)
  • then trekking to the Lake Gunung Tujuh for around 5-6 hours trekking (back and forth) with lunch break at the lakeside
  • Visit Telum Berasap Waterfall
  • Back to homestay
  • After cleaning up and dinner we will start heading bacck to Padang at approx 8 pm, driving time to Padang is 7-8 hours
  • Transfer to your hotel in Padang or to Padang airport
  • End of service.
