At 4,884 meters above sea level, the Carstensz Pyramid is the highest mountain in Indonesia. It is an imposing limestone monument, rising out of the dense jungle in central highland of Papua Province .The expedition to Cartensz Pyramid has the attributes of classic rock climbing combined with amazing cultural experience.
Climb the Cartensz Pyramid with one of Carstensz’s most experienced expedition leaders, Hendricus Mutter who besides being an accomplished climber also possesses extensive local knowledge and understanding of the many local cultures.

Helicopter Approach Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive in Jakarta, expedition briefing and gear checks
Day 2 – Day in Jakarta, contingency day for lost baggage recovery. Depart for Timika in the evening.
Day 3 – Arrive in Timika, overnight in Timika hotel
Day 4 – Early morning helicopter flight to Cartensz Pyramid Base Camp (4,200m)
Day 5 – Contingency day for helicopter flight
Day 6-7 – Acclimatization day
Day 8 – Summit climb on Carstensz Pyramid
Day 8 – Contingency summit day
Day 9 – Fly from Base Camp to Timika
Day 10 – Flight back to Jakarta
End of trip.
